Home!
Luci & Sergi delivered me to Barcelona airport with a time margin that allowed for arising disasters en route, as once befell Martin & myself between Grossderschau & Berlin. Today, the margin enabled me to get on the earlier flight to England, with some snapping of the whipcords propelling me to the gate just in time for boarding. However, there was no boarding, no announcement and, eventually, a delayed notice on the monitor. After an hour or so, boarding commenced, we got on the transit ‘bus to the ‘plane & then sat onboard.
An announcement from the BA Captain: you should have been told at the gate, but I’ve been informed that you weren’t, there are delays into Heathrow because of gales. We sat on board for over another hour before take off, and landed about the time scheduled for the following (my original) flight. Kevin Taxi had left Bredonborough two hours earlier than planned, waited as we had waited, then a smooth collection & home. Hooray!
